Australia 2021

Australia 2021!! I'm already thinking of my next trip to Australia. I pay off my mortgage in 2021 so I'll travel after I'm done with my mortgage. I've kept a journal of this past experience so I'll add that in my guide plans. This past trip I "got my feet wet" so to speak. The studying I did prior to this trip paid off in that I was more familiar with places, sights to see & Transportation options. When I got there I wasn't totally lost. I could find my way around. This next trip I will be 100% in charge of my entire trip. No tour guides. I will spend more on hotel, food & Transportation in country but that's what trip planning is all about. Planning is half the fun. And having back up plans & emergency funds is necessary too. I am putting together a pdf book of my journal, notes & tips. I will make a blog post of it too. This will be asap. I'm still editing all my photos from this trip.

Things I learned from this trip in Oct 2018:
1. LAX airport, food at domestic terminals is cheaper than at Intl terminal. The airport has free inter-terminal shuttle. Drop luggage off at Intl terminal when flying Intl then take shuttle to domestic terminal to eat. Save at least $10 per meal.
2. United Airlines: domestic flying from boarding groups 1-4 has free carry on small suitcase & backpack. Group 5 is backpack only. Other carry on suitcase has to be checked and paid for. Group 5 is the lowest basic economy ticket.
3. When in Sydney, Australia get the opal card for train, boat & bus transport. Get the iventure card from the Big Bus/hop on hop off bus office in Circular Quey. The office is opposite the wharfs, on the other side of the shops. Use Google maps to pinpoint the location.
4. In Sydney Australia at the central train station,  wander over to the information office and you can buy tickets for the Big Bus hop on hop off bus there. Take that receipt to Circular Quey big bus office and get your iventure card.
5. In Sydney Australia they have a hop on hop off boat too. You can use your opal card for some of the other boats/ferries.
